with the proliferation of technology worldwide, how many poor, desperate people that now have phones and internet and can see the wonderful lives being lived in western countries and so much prosperity and want that for themselves or their family? Especially when their shit hole countries are being run by dictators and warlords that will never share prosperity with them with zero hope of ever escaping that life of poverty. I know if I was in their shoes, I would risk everything even for the chance at a better life.
